Gordon Conroy

Founder and Executive Chairman

Gordon is the Founder and Executive Chairman of Unity and is primarily concerned with the direction and leadership of the Australasia business as well as being the spokesperson for the company.

Gordon is a former Commander in the Australian SAS (Special Forces) Counter Terrorist Squadron
and was also seconded to British Special Forces Counter Terrorist Unit.

After leaving the military, Gordon was seconded to the NSW Police Force as the Director of Special Protective Security Operations working within the Dignitary and Athlete Protection Unit at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.  In this role, Gordon was accountable for the detailed planning, budgeting, logistics and integration of security procedures, strategies and resources for the Olympics Official Protection Program which ensured the safety of Internationally Protected VIPs and ‘at risk’ athletes and teams.

Gordon founded Unity Resources Group in Australia in December 2000 as an International Risk Management Consultancy. Through Unity, Gordon worked with one of Asia’s largest risk management and security consulting houses, advising and planning for blue-chip clients operating in North Africa, the Middle East and South Asia. Gordon took Unity into post-war Iraq where he worked for over 18 months on a number of start-up projects for clients and set up the Baghdad office.

Gordon has a Bachelor of Military Studies and has gained substantial experience in executive leadership and management, risk and crisis management and strategic analysis.
