Bangkok Bombing Security Assessment
On 17 August at 1900hrs local time an explosion shook Bangkok’s Ratchaprasong intersection in the central commercial district, near the Erawan Shrine and the overhead bisection of two Skytrain lines. According to local reports, three kilograms of TNT was stuffed in a pipe at the shrine.
